Crevillent's local government board (Junta de Gobierno Local) has approved the contract file (expediente de contratación) for the tender to build a new municipal swimming pool. The town hall announced the decision on 30 October. The pool will be built next to the Félix Candela sports centre (polideportivo).

The total budget for the works is €2,668,224.07. The town hall has set aside €266,822.40 from its 2026 budget and €2,401,401.67 from its 2027 budget, which is most of the total. The spending will come from the budget line earmarked for the pool at the Félix Candela sports centre.

The board also approved the pliego de cláusulas administrativas particulares (the specific administrative conditions) and the pliego de prescripciones técnicas (the technical specification, which includes the project). Together they will set the terms of the tender and of the works. The contract will be awarded by open procedure (procedimiento abierto), with ordinary processing (tramitación ordinaria).

The tender notice will be published in the next few days on the town hall's perfil del contratante (its online contracting profile). Interested companies will then be able to submit bids. Alicante Plaza notes that the tender is not yet officially open and the works have not been awarded. When construction starts will depend on the outcome of the tender and the contract being formalised.

According to the town hall, the pool will expand the town's public sports facilities and give residents more opportunities to take part in sport. It has not said when bids must be submitted, when building will start or finish, or what the pool will be like.
