Firefighters (bomberos) from the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos de Alicante, the Alicante provincial firefighters' consortium, helped two hikers who got lost around Montgó natural park, in the municipality of Dénia, on Sunday 1 November. La Marina Plaza (eldiario.es), citing emergency-services sources, reports that the operation ended successfully. Both hikers are in good condition and did not need medical attention. Their names and nationalities, where they were found and the route they took have not been given.

The pair set out on foot from Dénia at about 10:00. They had water with them but no food. After several hours of walking they realised they were lost and could not get back to the path on their own, and at about 19:00 they called the emergency number 112.

A crew from the Dénia fire station went out to the call and reached the hikers on foot. The operation was coordinated by Control 3, which worked out exactly where the hikers were, and the rescuers quickly made direct contact with them. It was all over by about 20:00 and took around an hour.
