According to Alicante Plaza, the regional government (Generalitat) is building 40 affordable rental flats (alquiler asequible) in San Vicente del Raspeig under its Plan Vive. Mayor Pachi Pascual gave the timing at the October ordinary full council meeting (pleno) on 28 October. The report does not give an exact date. 40% of the flats are intended for young people (jóvenes), but the report does not say what age range that covers.
The flats are on calle La Huerta and form two separate developments. Residencial Iris (calle La Huerta, 9) has 24 flats of about 62 m²: 18 with two bedrooms, five with three bedrooms and one for people with reduced mobility. Residencial Ronda (calle La Huerta, 150) has 16 flats averaging 60 m².
The report does not say how to apply, who will be eligible, what the rent will be or when construction will finish. Under Plan Vive the Generalitat also plans an affordable housing block at calle Pizarro, 33, but it is still only planned and is not being built.
