As reported by La Marina Plaza, Ondara town hall's local government board (Junta de Gobierno) has approved the rules (bases reguladoras) for five municipal support programmes covering 2026 and 2027. Total funding exceeds €100,000.
According to the source, the aim of the package is to strengthen family wellbeing, make housing easier to access, support young people's education and develop sport in the municipality.
The biggest item is family financial aid (ayudas económicas familiares) for housing costs, with €94,000 set aside. Of that, €64,000 is reserved for council tax on property (IBI) and the rubbish collection charge (tasa de residuos urbanos), and €30,000 for rent subsidies on main homes. Rent help is new in this edition of the programme.
Students who are studying outside Ondara in the 2025-2026 academic year are covered by individual transport aid, intended to offset the cost of travelling to classes. Support for federated sport among children and young people under 18 also continues.
A separate €3,200 line has been added for elite and high-level athletes in Valencian pelota (pelota valenciana, a traditional ball game). The money will cover local players' costs for technical training (tecnificación), skills development (perfeccionamiento) and taking part in competitions.
The aid lines will be published officially in the Alicante provincial official gazette (BOP) and on Ondara's municipal channels. Application deadlines and the documents needed for each programme will be given in the same places.
The source does not give the date of the meeting, application deadlines, eligibility requirements or the amount per person. It also does not give the sums for student transport and federated sport.
