Changes to urban bus lines 1, 2 and 8 in Torrevieja take effect on Monday 2 November 2026. On lines 1 and 2, passengers will no longer have to change at Hospital Universitario de Torrevieja. Both lines keep their stop at the hospital and carry on to the centre, so the journey is made on a single bus.

Line 1 serves the hospital, Los Altos, Punta Prima and Rocío del Mar, and is extended to Gregorio Marañón. The terminus in the centre is avenida Doctor Gregorio Marañón, 7. The first buses leave Gregorio Marañón at 06:45 and Rocío del Mar (stop on calle Mar Rizada) at 07:00. The last bus leaves both ends at 22:10.

Line 2 links the hospital with Los Balcones and Lago Jardín, and now has a direct connection to the centre, ending at Gregorio Marañón. It also returns to its previous route along avenida de la Asunción and avenida de Torrevieja. The first bus leaves Los Balcones (stop on avenida de Denia) at 06:45 and Gregorio Marañón at 07:00. The last buses leave both ends at 22:30.

Line 8 gets a new route between the centre and La Mata along the coast, because of the redevelopment work on Paseo de Los Locos. The town hall says the new route is permanent and will stay in place after the works finish.

Towards La Mata, the bus will stop at avenida de la Purísima, calle Goleta, calle Mar Báltico and calle Jacinto Benavente. It then continues along avenida Alfredo Nobel to Cabo Cervera and La Mata, where the terminus is calle Mayor, 59. Towards the centre, the stops are calle Echegaray, calle Finlandia, avenida de las Habaneras, calle Antonio Machado (near the bus station) and avenida Diego Ramírez. The terminus is Gregorio Marañón.

The town hall advises passengers to check the route and timetable for their line before travelling, especially in the first days of the changes, and to confirm the stops for each direction.

The information was issued by the town hall's transport department (Concejalía de Transporte). Its release includes PDFs with timetables and routes for lines 1 and 2, the route for line 8, and a document on line 4 (Gregorio Marañón-Torretas-Centro Salud La Siesta). The material available does not say what, if anything, changes on line 4.

It also does not give how often the buses run, the timetable for line 8, when the Paseo de Los Locos works will end, or whether fares will change.
